Simple & Sturdy Exterior Stair Railing
Every railing application is unique and often it can be hard to find a DIY solution to installing your own railing. Furthermore, hiring a contractor to build one or having one fabricated can be rather costly. So what’s a homeowner to do?
This is where our Simple Rail handrail kits come in. These kits allow anyone to install their own railing with just a few simple tools and in most cases, have it up in under an hour. In addition, these kits are super sturdy and because of their galvanized finish, they’re resistant to rust.
We offer a wide range of kits and for years, customers have taken advantage of our selection to find a kit that has worked perfectly for their own application. Simple handrails for two step staircases, front porch or back deck railing, grab rails for the concrete steps inside of a garage, and many more. Each application requires its own unique construction and we have a kit for each.
Below are just a few customer examples and the kit they used to solve their railing needs:
Customer Railing Examples
Handrail for Pathway Steps
The C50 Simple Rail kit makes it easy to install a railing at almost any angle. The unique fittings used at the top of the railing allow for up to 170 degrees of motion. This makes it a great companion to almost any staircase.
This particular one featured above, accompanies the pathway that leads to Gerard’s home. A five step staircase starts the path off and Gerard needed a railing to make it easier for visiting relatives to go up and down the steps.
“Several of our infirm cousins were complaining about the difficulty involved in coming down our stairs from the parking area. This did the trick. Easy to install and very solid. I painted it white at my wife's request. Acid cleaned the pipe, then quality primer and top coat. Looks great.”
Railing for Back Deck
Dealing with home insurance companies can be a hassle but it doesn’t have to be. Take for instance one of our customers, John C. His insurance company wanted him to install a railing on his back deck in order to be up to code. Instead of spending time, money, and resources trying to find a contractor to install one, John took to the internet to find a DIY solution:
“We recently purchased two of your Surface 29 - Surface Mount Railing Kits. Our insurance company wanted one railing for our steps from our lakeside deck. We decided two rails would be twice as good. All parts arrived on time and the 7' Grab Rails were the perfect length. Installation was quick and easy. All we needed was twelve 2" x 1/2" lag screws to mount the uprights to 2" x 6" sections of our steps. We aligned the two rails to match and our project was complete. The rails look great we are extremely pleased!”
Two Step Handrail
Our Hybrid C50-C58 Simple Rail kit is perfect in situations where one end of the railing needs to attach to a wall and the other end to the ground. Such was the case of this two step staircase to Travis’ brick row home.
“I ordered this simple galvanized railing for a short two-step run on our brick row house. The install was simple and took only 20 minutes.”
Again, the unique fittings used in the construction of this railing allow for up to 170 degrees of motion making it extremely versatile.
Railing for Stone Front Porch
The Surface 518 is similar to the other kits listed so far; it’s super sturdy, resistant to rust, and easy to install. However, the fittings used in this kit place the handrail more offset to one side and allows for a smooth handrail unobstructed from the fittings.
The one you see here was installed by Anthony S. at his family’s summer cottage. His elderly mother-in-law had trouble climbing the stairs, so he invested in this railing to help her go up and down the steps. Anthony appreciated the sturdiness of the railing and told us that he ultimately went with this kit because it was quick, easy, and he wouldn’t have to replace it in his lifetime.
