Seamstress Studio Workshop Features Industrial Furniture
A french couple decided to transform their garage into a studio work space with industrial furniture. As they imagined what their new space would look like they decided to use Kee Klamp pipe fittings to bring an industrial feel to the work space. The workspace was made over to be functional for seamstress activities. Kee Klamp pipe fittings were used to build a large work table, railing, desk and lighting fixtures.
The most obvious feature of this workspace is a large work table. The work table is large enough to measure and cut cloth. The large table is supported by a rugged pipe frame that is joined together with Tees. Pallet flanges give the legs a finished look on the polished concrete floor.
The lighting structure for the table was also constructed using pipe and fittings. The long bar that extends from the vertical pipes houses the light wires, but also has room on the end for hangers -- a perfect feature for a seamstress studio.
Entering the room is a set of stairs that lead down the main floor of the studio. Kee Klamp was used here as an accent railing. Pipe railing is a frequently built with Kee Klamp fittings and this railing not only provides safety, it accents the fittings used in the rest of the workspace.
The final piece built for this workshop was a glass topped desk. This desk also uses a base built with galvanized pipe fittings. Flanges on the top and bottom of the vertical pipes support the glass top. The rest of the structure is joined together using a series of elbows and tees.
