Achieving a classic antique look in this world of modern design can be a difficult task. You want something that is simple and elegant yet sophisticated and unique. This curtain rod put together by Kimberly Duran, author of Swoon Worthy, does just that. In a charge to remodel her bathroom, called "Operation Bathroom Remodel", Kimberly came up with this unique design. She uses Kee Klamp fittings and pipe to create the curtain rod and painted it an antique gold color to give it that classy, sophisticated look that pairs well with the other elements in the bathroom. The antique gold look is continued throughout the bathroom including in the chandelier, mirror, faucet, drawer handles, and other various bathroom hardware.

At first, Kimberly was apprehensive about using Kee Klamp to construct her curtain rod. She was unsure of the stability of the material and if it would be applicable for her situation. However, Kimberly's worries were thrown out the window when she discovered Kee Klamp's superior strength and learned that it has been used to build gym equipment for many years. Even popular Obstacle Racing Courses like the Spartan Race and Men's Ultimate Athlete Games use Kee Klamp fittings and pipe to build their structures. If fixed correctly to the wall, Kimberly could even do some pull ups on her new fancy curtain rod if she desired.

Another added bonus was Kee Klamp's resistance to rust. Unlike welded pipe, Kee Klamp is resistant to rust due to its unique galvanization process. In fact, it takes up to 20 years for rust to show as compared to just 2 years on a welded fixture. This makes it a perfect solution for use in the bathroom where water and moisture can be a problem causing fixtures to rust. Kimberly will be able to enjoy her antique gold curtain rod for many years to come.

Kimberly documented her entire experience in remodeling her bathroom from concept, to construction, and finally conclusion. In retrospect, Kimberly loves the fact the curtain rod is so solid and sturdy. In her words, "it's the best shower curtain rail I've ever had, no piddly little thing that falls down every time you open the shower, this thing is sturdy as anything and really added a bit of an industrial touch to the space."
