1. Loft Railing for Girl's Playroom

Loft Railing

This loft railing was put together by Chris in his daughters' playroom. The room is rather tall so Chris decided to build a loft in the playroom to take advantage of the extra space. He needed a railing to ensure that his daughters were safe when playing up on the loft and did not want this railing to be made of wood. That's when he found Simplified Building and was able to come up with a design using Kee Klamp fittings. The finished result looks fantastic and most importantly, it keeps his daughters safe. Here's what Chris had to say...

"I have a very tall room that was being used as a playroom for my girls and I needed a bit extra room for them so I built a loft space above a closet area. I needed a railing and I did not want it to be out of wood because I wanted it to be safe... I purchased some Kee Klamps along with some galvanized pipe, painted them white and installed the railing to keep my girls safe from falling off above. The project turned out perfect, thank you Simplified Building."

2. Loft Railing for a Rustic Home

Concerned about safety, especially for the safety of his grand children, Armand built this railing using Kee Klamp fittings and pipe. He came to us through an internet search after being inspired by an acquaintance that built a similar railing. However, his acquaintance used threaded plumbing pipe of which he had to use steel wool and urethane to get the bright finish that Armand admired. Armand was able to use Kee Klamp to create this loft railing to achieve that desired look without all the hassle of the threaded pipe.

Armand appreciated the ease of assembly and the positive impression that was left with family after seeing the finished loft railing. "I liked the assembly concept and the support received from the company" said Armand.

3. Family Room Loft with Desk

Loft Railing

Stephen wanted to take advantage of the high ceilings in the family room of his home. That's when he decided to build a loft in the room. He came up with a design and created a small model with straws and cardboard to better envision the idea. This ensured that he had the right design and knew which fittings to use. The loft supports a small desk, chair, computer, and several of his children who spend their time up there.

The loft is roughly 6 feet tall, 8 feet long, and 4 feet deep. 1x6x8 slats make the floor foundation of which the 1/2 inch plywood is secured. Carpet squares cover the plywood and an oak trim surrounds the edges. Here's what Stephen had to say about the loft:

"It (the loft) is more solid than anything I could have designed with wood. The ladder works great, using oak to secure the pipe to the wall to align with the wall studs and then I added some stainless steel back splash to protect the wall. Kids love it. I painted the fittings to match the walls and kept the pipe bare to have the industrial look. The loft is great for our family and has exceeded my expectations."

Don built a pipe railing for the loft in his garage. He was looking for a railing that would be easy to build in his newly constructed garage loft. Kee Klamp fittings and pipe allowed for that easy solution. The result is this fantastic railing that fits great in the new garage and pairs well with the other elements in the room such as the wood paneling and open atmosphere. Don appreciated the ease of use and build quality of Kee Klamp.

5. Bunk Bed Loft for Boy's Room

Loft Railing

To free up floor space, Michael built this double twin loft bed for his two children. The newly built loft beds get his kids "up in the air", allowing space for their dressers and "more importantly, their own desks so they no longer need to do their homework on the dining room table!" says Michael. After searching the internet for alternatives to welding and threaded pipe, Michael came across Kee Klamp.

Michael appreciated, "how stout and strong they were. These things are durable and the set nut really holds them into place. It was by far the best solution, being able to just cut the pipe to length and easily assemble without worry of 'weak' joints. It was an easy decision."
