Free Standing Sign Support

This free standing sign support was constructed for O'Reilly Publishing's 2011 Maker Faire. It was used to support signage outside of their various stages.

The design is very simple and uses only a few aluminum pipe fittings and pieces of pipe. A rectangular base supports the top of the structure. There is a sliding pipe on the upper part of the sign to support different size banners. In high winds the structure can be supported by a bag of sand or other weight. The fittings easily attach to the pipe using only an allen wrench. The structure can easily be broken down for transport and reassembled.
