ADA Railing Case Study: National Park Service
The National Park Service recently replaced a boardwalk on the ground of the Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park. Part of this renovation included replacing the ADA railing that lined the boardwalk. Over 4500 feet of railing was needed that would be cost-effective and easy to install. The Park service turned to Simplified for an ADA railing to fulfill their need.
Strengths of the ADA Railing System
This job demonstrates a number of strengths about the Simplified ADA railing system.
- The railing was pre powder-coated giving it a great finished look.
- The pipe was pre-cut into sections that matched the boardwalk, making onsite assembly even easier.
- There were many side to side and up and down changes in the boardwalk. These were handled through the use of our special ADA Variable Angle fittings.
- The ADA railing was attached to the wooden rail through the use of simple wall brackets.
The modular nature of the fittings makes the railing a snap to install. The assembly concept is easy to grasp. Use your standard contractor or maintenance personnel to do the installation and avoid costly labor.
