The weight of the pipe leads to greater stability, and the clothing racks are virtually unbreakable.

Durability + Modern Look + Modularity = Perfect Clothing Rack

In addition to the clothing racks looks and durability, they are are also completely modular. Because of how the fittings an pipe work, you can design a clothing rack for almost any setting. Wall mounting clothing racks, free standing clothing racks, complicated integrated clothing racks... you name it, it can be done with pipe and pipe fittings!

Modularity allows the clothing rack to be broken down for storage. It also allows the clothing rack to be expanded in the future as your store grows.

To Design or Not to Design?

When deciding on a clothing rack for your store or home you have to decide if you want to design it yourself or go with a clothing rack kit. We have a line of clothing racks kits called Simple Rack. Beyond the clothing rack kits, you can choose to design your own custom clothing racks. If you decide you want to design your own clothing rack please read through the details below.

Design Your Own Clothing Racks

We provide free clothing rack design assistance, but you are always welcome to design your own clothing rack with Kee Klamp (steel) or Kee Lite (aluminum) pipe fittings. If you would like to design your own clothing racks here are a few important details to keep in mind.

  • Clothing racks should be constructed with 1" pipe (called size 6 pipe on our web site). Larger pipe will not allow a standard hanger to hang on the clothing rack. Smaller pipe will be too flimsy to support heavier clothing. 1" Schedule 40 pipe is the perfect pipe for building your own clothing rack.
  • Avoid unsupported clothing rack spans longer than six (6) feet. If you are designing for heavy clothing, consider using shorter spans, or support the spans with additional uprights.
  • Take advantage of the Sketchup models of our pipe fittings. Sketchup is a free program that can be used to visualize and design your clothing rack before your purchase.
