Reusable Finish Line Banner Support Structure
Building finish line support structures with London Marathon finish line structure is constructed using Kee Klamp pipe fittings. The ease of assembly and reusable nature of Kee Klamp make them a great choice for building structures that need to be assembled annually.
One of our customers sent us this picture of a finish line structure that they constructed using Kee Klamp fittings.
Here is what Geoff had to say about his project:
The project was our take on a finish line for a cross country meet. The event was for 598 high school and middle school runners in 6 races. We built the finish line using PVC for the top members which held the banner using zip ties. The uprights and lower assembly were made from schedule 40 black pipe. We had no need for sand bags since the weight of the assembly was sufficient to hold everything down. It was easy to transport and setup. It only takes two people to assemble and all the parts were purchased from a local Lowes. Plus we expect it to last for many years to come.
We feel it is a much safer design than others we have seen that use ropes and stakes at the finish which have obvious disadvantages due to trip hazards and falls that can occur. The runners really liked the visibility with the 3'x10' banner mounted at 10' above ground. They could easily see it as they made the final turn that was about 400' away from the finish.
Kudos to Geoff on his finish line structure. For sending us pictures of his project we sent him a Simplified T-shirt.
