Pole Mounted Monitor Desk [Desk Week]

Desk Week Dual Pole Mounted Monitor Desk

Desk Week - September is a time when people are thinking about work. We have a lot of customers who end up building desks to help them get their work done. We'll be featuring a series of desks this week to show you what some of our customers are doing with Kee Klamp fittings and pipe.

Building Tips

Build the support pipes for the monitor high enough so you can adjust the brackets up and down.

Use cord control underneath the desk to keep everything under control. Use wire ties or Velcro straps to keep cords attached to the pipe.

Purpose

Build a media editing workstation by pole mount large monitors to a rolling desk.

Features

Adam took a standard Simple Table Rugged rolling kit and customized it with some additional pipe and fittings to support two large monitors and some speakers.

The rolling feature allows the desk to be moved out of the way so that a storage area underneath the stairs can be accessed.

The speaker supports can be adjusted in and out simply by loosening and tightening the set screw in the fitting.

In order to support the monitors, he added an additional cross-bar to the back of the desk. Two uprights were connected to the cross-bars with a 45 fitting. The top of the uprights were capped off with two 15 Elbows and a separator pipe.

The monitor brackets were connected to the pipes with a standard set of U-bolts.

On one of the desks Adam used some additional 10-75 tee to attach two smaller speaker support pipes. The speakers were connected to the pipes with 70-5 Rail Support.
