Offshore Platform Welded Rail Alternative

Recently Offshore Magazine published a small feature on using Kee Lite aluminum fittings to build railings on offshore rigs. Here is an execerpt:

Kee Industrial Products offers an alternative to traditional welded handrail systems using Kee Lite aluminum or Kee Klamp galvanized steel safety components. These along with 1 1/2-in. (3.8-cm) IPS pipe are corrosion resistant and conform to USCG Refs: 33 CFR 143.110-120 and 46 CFR 108.217-233 for offshore platforms. The railing systems are designed to reduce the difficulty of installing and repairing platform handrail systems and other safety barriers while maintaining regulatory compliance. Construction requires only simple hand tools for installation, delivering time and labor savings as compared to traditional welded railings.
