Live Edge Desktop on Black Pipe Base [Desk Week]
Desk Week - September is a time when people are thinking about work. We have a lot of customers who end up building desks to help them get their work done. We'll be featuring a series of desks this week to show you what some of our customers are doing with Kee Klamp fittings and pipe.

Purpose |
Use live edge slabs to build a custom desk that fits into a bay window. |
Features |
Natural live edge slabs have a great organic look to them. The slabs combine well with the natural light and wood drawers to the left in the picture. The slabs were native to Randy's location, the Sierra's of California. The live edge slabs were 3-3/4" thick. The key for this desk was providing custom supports to a very heavy desktop. Kee Klamp allowed the leg units to be built to the exact specifications of the space. The desk was cut to fit into a bay window, so the pipe foundation had to be designed to accommodate this layout. The fittings and pipe were painted flat black. |
Building Tips |
Flanges can be used to connect the slabs into the pipe structure. Tee fittings are used to tie the supports for both desks together. This saved on the number of fittings that were needed. |
Parts Used in this Desk |
7 x 61-7 Flange - Used to attach the slab to the legs 3 x 21-7 90 degree Side Outlet Tee - Supports for the leg bracing 8 x 10-7 Single Socket Tee - Supports for the leg bracing |
